On April 6 in Mumbai, Elise Donovan, Director of BVI House Asia, spoke on a panel entitled, “Shielding Indian clients from the global spotlight on transparency,” during the Indian Family Wealth Forum held at the Sofitel Hotel here.
In addition to Ms. Donovan, the panel included Panel Gurpreet Singh, Principal Consultant, Financial Intermediaries Association of India; Angelo Venardos, Chief Executive Officer, Heritage Trust Group; and Kanwar Vivek, Senior President and Head, Wealth Management & Global Indian Banking, Yes Bank.
The panel discussed issues such as what FATCA, CRS and AEOI mean for the advice wealth managers need to give their clients; what needs to be done internally; and what should be done differently to protect wealth with the least cost?
“The panel explored a number of issues that are critical to clients in today’s world,” said Ms. Donovan. “We examined what wealth managers need to know to guide clients through the current environment, including how wealth managers help citizenship and alternative residency planning for wealthy families?”
