BVI FSC Press Release "Disruption of Services - Hurricane Irma"

The BVI Financial Services Commission has issued the below Press Release:


DISRUPTION OF SERVICES- HURRICANE IRMA


TORTOLA – 9 September 2017 – The operations of the  BVI Financial Services Commission (the “Commission”) have been disrupted following the passage of Hurricane Irma.

“This is an extremely difficult time for the British Virgin Islands. Given the severe and unprecedented damage caused by Hurricane Irma, preservation of life is the primary concern as the Territory prepares for the passage of a second hurricane this weekend- Hurricane Jose. Rest assured that we will restore services to the industry as soon as we can safely do so…” said Robert Mathavious, CEO and Managing Director of the Commission.  

The Commission intends to issue another statement after the passage of Hurricane Jose about restoration of full functionality and services to the industry.
